The EOCC TF Official Controls aims to analyse the Regulation EU 625/2017, published on April 7, 2017, replacing the former regulation 882/2004 and that will come into application on December 14, 2019. By analyzing this regulation, the Task-Force aims to achieve best solutions for effective and efficient inspections in organic production.
The coordinator of TF Official Controls is Dr. Jochen Neuendorff.
Jochen serves as the managing director of the German control body Resource Protection Ltd. (GfRS Gesellschaft fuer Ressourcenschutz mbH, www.gfrs.de) since 1989. He is inspector of organic farms, processors and importers of products from organic agriculture in various member states of the EU. Since 1998, he is also assessor of different accreditation bodies for ISO 17065 and ISO 17021. He did various evaluations of control bodies certifying to equivalent standards active in third countries, in Africa, Asia and Latin America. He is the chairman of the committee Agriculture, Nutrition and Sustainability of DAkkS and a member of the accreditation committee of the IOAS. Jochen was the project leader of a variety of research and development projects aiming to improve effectiveness and efficiency of organic controls, amongst them the EU-projects IRM-Organic and AWARE. Jochen is convinced that one of the major tasks is future is harmonisation of organic controls, a task to which EOCC can deliver an excellent contribution. In April 2014, Jochen became EOCC Board member.
Ekoagros is the only control authority in Lithuania that carries out certification and control activities of organic production and the national quality agricultural and food products. Ekoagros meets LST EN ISO / IEC 17065:2012 standard and is accredited to certify organic plant, livestock, beekeeping, wild plant production, aquaculture, also processing of plant or animal origin food products and processes of production and handling of national quality agricultural and food products (NQP).
From year 2017 Ekoagros is included in the list in Annex IV to Regulation (EC) No 1235/2008 and is recognised by European Commision as competent control body to carry out controls and issue certificates in third countries (Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan) for the purpose of equivalence to EU organic regulations.
From 2017 Ekoagros is accredited certifying agent to perform certification activities on crops, wild crops and livestock and handling operations on behalf of USDA under the NOP.
In 2014, the Ekoagros joined the Quavera association, which unifies certification bodies, from 2015, Ekoagros is a member of IFOAM EU Group.

Balkan Biocert Skopje is accredited by the Institute for Accreditation of the Republic of Macedonia and authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Supply of the Republic of Macedonia.
Since March 2012, in addition to the national accreditation, Balkan Biocert Skopje is accredited by IOAS (International Organic Accreditation Service), headquartered in North Dakota, USA.
Since 13th of February 2013 Balkan Biocert Skopje has the recognition of the European Commission and is on the list of control bodies and control authorities competent to carry out controls and issue certificates in third countries for the purpose of equivalence.
It confirms that the system of inspection and certification of Balkan Biocert Skopje is equal to the system in which the certification bodies within the EU work.
Since October 2015, Balkan Biocert Skopje is recognized by the Federal Office for Agriculture FOAG and at the same time, a contract was signed with International Certification Bio Suisse AG.
Accordingly, Balkan Biocert Skopje is the only certification body in Macedonia, authorized to do the inspections according to Bio Suisse standard.
Those achievements of Balkan Biocert Skopje, provide an opportunity to the organic producer in Macedonia, to place their products on the EU market and in Switzerland.
Balkan Biocert Skopje has published the certificates of its operators on bioC, the Global Organic Certification Directory. This makes a significant contribution to the transparency and credibility of Macedonian organic products being traded.
Stakeholders all over the world are now able to validate and track, in real time, the certification status of these operators and their products. This milestone achievement helps mitigate risk in the supply chains and provides greater assurance to processors and traders of organic products from Macedonia. It will also help to increase the reputation and credibility of Macedonian organic producers.
